Are you unable
to work due to illness or a disability?
Have you been
injured at work and are no longer able to work?
If you are a
member of a super fund, you may be entitled to make a claim under an insurance
policy within your super fund. It is very likely that you have insurance that
you’re not aware of.
You can lodge a
claim if you:
·
Become
ill;
·
Suffer
an accident at work or on the road; or
·
Suffer
any incapacity which stops you from working.
Claims may be
made for:
1.
Permanent
disability – in which case a lump sum amount may be paid. This is also known as
a Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) payment.
2.
Temporary
disability – which provides monthly payments. This might also be described as
Income Protection, Salary Continuance or a Total and Temporary Disability
payment, depending upon the policy language.
Even if you
have stopped working and are no longer insured, you may still be able to make a
claim. The important thing is that you were insured at the time when you suffered
your injury.
It is best to
check if you are entitled to make a claim by speaking to a lawyer. Sometimes,
super funds give people incorrect information about their ability to make a
claim.
At G&B
Lawyers, we are ready to assist you with making a claim. We provide a ‘no win
no fee’ costs arrangement for claims of this nature. That means that you will only
pay our fee if you are successful with your claim.
